Catherine Marie Burns, 73
KINSTON, N.C. - Catherine Marie Burns, of Kinston, formerly of Dover, Del., died Friday, April 4, 2008. She was 73.
She was born Nov. 26, 1934, in Dover.
Mrs. Burns was a homemaker and helped her husband farm in the Dover area.
She liked playing "Go Fish," bingo and other games.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Arthur Minor Burns, on Nov. 12, 1996; and her son-in-law, John Hurd, on Oct. 7, 2004. Also preceding her in death was a grandson, Charlie Quinn.
Mrs. Burns is survived by five sons, William Richard Burris, Arthur O. Burns, Charles Ray Burns, Bobby Burns and David Franklin Burns, all of North Carolina; two daughters, Mary Hurd of Dover and Georgia Lee Spain of North Carolina; a brother, William Burris of Virginia; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover.
Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
