Catherine Mae Blizzard Briggs

Catherine Mae Blizzard Briggs GEORGETOWN - Catherine Mae Blizzard Briggs, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008. She was born on Jan. 6, 1926. She graduated from Milton High School. She enjoyed serving in the Midland Grange and Grace United Methodist Church with her husband. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, George Briggs. She was a devoted mother and homemaker. Since 2001 she has made her home in Georgetown with her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Stanley King and their sons, Jared and Justin. She is also survived by two sons and their wives, Elmer and Bonnie Briggs and Lewis (II) and Lisa Briggs, all of Georgetown. She felt blessed to have eight grandchildren including, Charles, Mark, Michelle, Lewis (III), and Michael Briggs, Jared and Justin King, and Jill Guerrazzi. One of her greatest enjoyments was spending time with Taylor Lynn, Michael Allen, Riley, Lewis (IV), Madison, Logan, Kalee and Kasee, her great-grandchildren. She was looking forward to the birth of Gabriella her next great- grandbaby. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call Wednesday night from 6-8 pm. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown. Contributions may be made to: Grace United Methodist Church, 7 S. King St., Georgetown, DE 19947.
