Catherine Louise White, 79

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Catherine Louise White, of Chestertown, died on April 16, 2009, at Christiana Hospital in Wilmington, Del. She was 79. Born on March 30, 1930, in Still Pond, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Anna (Ireland) Legg. Mrs. White graduated from Chestertown High School then went on to be a phone operator for C & P for a short period. After that she became a secretary for G & G Distributors for several years. She enjoyed golf and traveling by car, especially the West Coast, but enjoyed much of the rest of the country as well. Mrs. White loved taking care of her family and her home. She was predeceased by two children, William R. White, III and Susan Elaine White; and two brothers, James R. Legg and William Legg. She is survived by her husband, William R. White Jr.; a daughter, Nancy Semenick and her husband Bill of Laurel, Md.; sisters, Betty Redding of Galena, and Virginia Simpler of Fredrica, Del.; one grandson, Aaron Michael Semenick of Brunswick;and one great grandson, William Aaron Semenick. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday April 21, at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, Chestertown, where friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will be in Chester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Letters of condolence may be sent via www.fhnfuneralhome.com.
