Catherine Anne 'Annie' Newcomb, 59
MILFORD - Catherine Anne "Annie" Newcomb of Milford died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, in her home surrounded by her family. She was 59.
Ms. Newcomb was born in Bridgeville, daughter of the late Harvey and Cynthia Passwaters.
She was a printer operator for L.D. Caulk in Milford for 17 years before retiring in 2001.
Ms. Newcomb enjoyed local stock car racing and NASCAR racing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William "Knothole" Passwaters.
She is survived by a daughter and a son-in-law, Teresa and Leonard Leyanna of Milford; a stepson, Michael Newcomb and his wife, Kathy of Milton; three grandchildren, Lenny Leyanna, Joey Leyanna and Kyle Leyanna; two step-grandchildren, Matthew Newcomb and Morgan Anne Newcomb; three brothers, Jack Passwaters of Greenwood, Robert Wingate of Blades and Louis Wingate of Rehoboth Beach; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call two hours earlier. The Rev. Gary Tulak will officiate.
Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Victory Junction Gang Camp, 4500 Adams Way, Randleman, NC 27317.
