ETHAN, S.D. - Cassandra Marie Wherley, 25, of Ethan, S.D., passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016 as a result a motor vehicle accident near Ethan. Mass of Christian Burial was 1 p.m., Friday, July 22, 2016 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, in Brookings, S.D. Visitation was 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Rude's Funeral Home, in Brookings. Liturgical Wake Service and Rosary began at 6:30 pm. Memorials may be directed to the family to establish an educational fund for her son, Carter. Cassie is survived by her husband, Darin; and son, Carter (2), of Ethan, S.D.; parents, Kevin (Missy) Lucas of Brookings, S.D. and Chalonne (Kyle) Evans of Surprise, Ariz.; her brother, Christopher Lucas of Rapid City; sister, Kelsie Lucas of Surprise, Ariz.; her half and step-siblings, Logan Evans of Mitchell, S.D., Cole Evans of Surprise, Ariz., JD Phillips of Pocatello, Idaho and Mia Phillips of Brookings; her grandparents, Steve (Julie) Foerster of Brookings and Colleen (Bruce Reuter) Foerster of Sun City West, Ariz. and a host of relatives.
