Caroline T. Pisapia

GALENA, Md. - Caroline T. Pisapia died May 24, 2017, in Compass Regional Hospice Center, Centreville, Md.
Mrs. Pisapia was born on February 12, 1945, in Jacksonville, Fla., daughter of the late Floyd and Thelma Barber. In 1963 she married Harry and later moved to Dover where they began raising their family. In 1980 they moved to Galena where Carol began her banking career with Chestertown Bank and Peoples Bank. She was a Eucharist Minister at St. Dennis Church, a member of American Legion Post 36 and Galena Fire Co, where she had served as secretary and the board of directors. She was also a member and past president of Ladies Auxiliary Dover Elks #1903.
Carol loved gardening and travel but most of all being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Harry Pisapia; her sons, Anthony J. Pisapia (Cresha), of Elkton and Joseph J. Pisapia (Christy), of Galena; four grandchildren, Dominick Pisapia (fiancée Tasha), Alicia Weisenberg (Clay), Victoria Pisapia and Marisa Pisapia; and five great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Owen, Eli, Alayna and Nixon.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on June 1, 2017, at 11 a.m. in St. Dennis Catholic Church, Galena. Burial will be held privately in Delaware Veterans Cemetery.
Memorials may be offered to Galena V.F.C. or St. Dennis Catholic Church.
