Carol Jean Thomas, 61

DENTON, Md. - Carol Jean Thomas, of Denton, died Friday, May 16, 2008, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury. She was 61.

She was born April 24, 1947, in Bethesda, daughter of the late James W. Thomas and Doris Mae Ratliff.

Ms. Thomas was a homemaker.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marydel, as well as the American Animal League and the S.P.C.A.

Ms. Thomas enjoyed bluegrass music, especially the Marydel Bluegrass Association, and was also a fan of The Jones Boys.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James W. Thomas Jr.; and sister, Mildred P. Walls.

She is survived by a son, Stanley J. Thomas of Greensboro; a daughter, Tanya Thomas of Marydel; a brother, Lawrence Thomas of Dover, Del.; four sisters, Geraldine Green of Linden, Pa., Sherron Thomas of Denver, Pa., Donna Ksenich of Greensboro and Brenda Janson of Denton; a granddaughter, Kymberlysa Thomas; and many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Fleegle and Helfenbeing Funeral Home, 106 W. Sunset Ave., Greensboro.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Denton Cemetery.
