SMYRNA - Carol Fontello, age 70, of Smyrna, went home to be with the Lord on May 12, 2015 after a long battle with an illness. She passed surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born September 22, 1944 in Pa., the daughter of the late Oden and Mabel Smith. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Milton; her daughters, Maggie (Chris) of Clayton and Sharon (James) of Smyrna; her son, Angelo (Tanya) of Smyrna; her grandchildren, Chris, Jr., Pamela and Angelina; her great grandchildren, Gabby, Tristian, Emma, Luke and Sophia; sister, Betty Faux; her nephew, who was like a son, John Riddle; and nieces and nephews. Carol was a beloved homemaker who loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She worked out of her home for 15 years running the family business, "Fonzies Picking House". She enjoyed going fishing, going to Rehoboth Beach and traveling to Virginia Landing. A going home ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 4 pm at the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main Street in Smyrna, where friends may call at 3 pm. A reception will be held after the ceremony at the Smyrna Fire hall. Burial will be private. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
