HARRINGTON - Carol Ann Burke passed away peacefully at home, Friday, August 13, 2021. Mrs. Burke was born December 18, 1937, in Harrington to the late Frank Tharp and Ethel Abercrombie Tharp. She spent most of her life in Delaware.
She was an elementary school teacher for Caesar Rodney School District for many years until retiring. Mrs. Burke was an active member of the Whatcoat United Methodist Church in Camden. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved pets and family at the beach.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, of 55 years, Edward Henry "Teddy" Burke who passed in 2014; son, Jeffrey Tharp Burke who passed in 2005.
Mrs. Burke is survived by daughters, Lynnda Burke Mangels and her husband Bob of St. Augustine, Fla., Tracy Burke Rothermel and her husband Jeff of Harrington; sister, Fran and her husband Bill McGill of St. Augustine, Fla.; grandchildren, Zachary Logan, Rane Logan, Lilana Mangels, Morgan Kemp, Jocelyn Kemp, Elijah Kemp, Corynn Rothermel; great-grandchildren, Aleigha Deputy, Caroline Deputy, Kinsley Voss, Jeffrey Logan, Sylvia Perrigaud and Scarlett Mullis.
Graveside services will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Odd Fellows Cemetery, 35 Rising Sun Rd., Camden.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Harrington High School Alumni Association, PO Box 37, Harrington, DE 19952.
