SELBYVILLE - Carol A. Reid, 39, was born Oct. 24, 1969, in P.G.H., Salisbury, Md., to the late Percy Reid and Annabell Reid of Selbyville. She was educated in the Indian River School District of Sussex County, and graduated in 1987. Carol was employed by Delaware Correction in Dover for 13 years. Carol departed this life at home early Tuesday morning Sept. 16, 2009, after a brief illness with her mother and friend by her side with paramedics unsuccessfully trying to revive her. She was a quiet, joyful, very friendly and a laid back type of person who seemed not to have a worry in the world. Carol was a people loving person with a unique smile, and a good sense of humor. Carol attended Pilgrim's Ministry of Deliverance in Georgetown and furthered her walk with the Lord under the leadership of Apostle Ivory Hopkins and Bishop Levin Bailey. She was secretary of the missionary society, sang in the choir, and was always willing to assist in the kitchen with her mother. Carol leaves to cherish her memory her mother and friend, a very special friend, Sammy Chandler; three aunts, two uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m., tonight at Pilgrims Ministry of Deliverance, Georgetown, where services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday. Interment will be in Curtis United Methodist Church Cemetery, Bishopville, Md. Arrangements by Young & McPherson Funeral Home, Milford.
