Calvin Harding Friedel

Friedel, 95 SEAFORD - Calvin Harding Friedel, of Seaford, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013, at his residence. Born in Seaford, he was the son of Mary Boyce and Charles L. Friedel. He was a farmer and a Navy Veteran of World War II. He also served in the Delaware National Guard. He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church; Nanticoke Post 6 American Legion; and a charter member of Virgil Wilson Post 4961 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by two sons, Lonnie Friedel and Jeffrey Friedel, both of Seaford; three daughters, Sandra Hill of Seaford; Judy Timmons of Laurel; and Susan Branam of Chesterfield, Va; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Jane Phillips Friedel; a son, Jan Friedel; and a daughter, Nancy L. Webb. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 19, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Front & King Sts., Seaford, DE, where friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Seaford Fire Department, PO Box 87, Seaford, DE 19973.
