FELTON — Caesar Rodney High won the boys’ team title while Smyrna took the girls’ team championship as the Henlopen Conference track & field championships wrapped up on Monday.

The two-day meet, which was held at Lake Forest, began last Thursday before being rained out on Friday.

The Riders’ boys finished with 129.5 points, just ahead of second-place Cape Henlopen, which had 125. Dover was third with 113.

On the girls’ side, Smyrna totaled 104 points to out-distance second-place CR (95) and third-place Cape Henlopen (93.25).

There were several individual two-event winners in the meet.

In the boys’ meet, Seaford’s Jazonte Levan won both the 100 and 200 meters, Smyrna’s Elijah Williams won the 110-meter hurdles and the high jump while Dover’s Jaheim Cole won the long and triple jump.

In the girls’ meet, Smyrna’s Aaliyah Turpin won the 100 and the 100 hurdles, Lake Forest’s Kirja Hickman won the discus and shot put and Indian River’s Brynn Crandell won the 1,600 and 3,200 meters.

Other individual winners in the boys’ meet were Caesar Rodney’s Gabe Harris (300 hurdles) and Ian Cain (1,600); Cape Henlopen’s Jason Baker (3,200), Benjamin Clifton (800) and Bailey Fletcher (pole vault); Dover’s E;ijah Tackett (400), Milford’s David Fuhrman (shot put) and Laurel’s Brandon Rife (discus).

Dover won both the 400 and sprint relays, CR took both the 1,600 and 3,200 relays and Seaford finished first in the 800 relay.

Other individual winners in the girls’ meet were Smyrna’s Krista Byrd (400), Mi’Leah Cotton (800) and Rorickia Abraham (high jump), Dover’s Kaprice Pointer (long jump), Caesar Rodney’s Tatiyanna Davis (triple jump), Sussex Tech’s Mariah McCabe (300 hurdles) and Polytech’s Nyah Ballard (200).

CR won both the 800 and 3,200 relays; Smyrna won the 400 and 1,600 relays and Cape Henlopen won the sprint relay.

The DIAA state championship meet is being held on Friday and Saturday at Dover.
