MILLSBORO - Brontia Nicole "Tia" Tashi Allen of Millsboro died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, in Children's Hospital, National Medical Center, Washington, D.C. She was 14.
She was a seventh-grade student at Sussex Central Middle School, Millsboro.
Tia was a joyous young lady, humble and beloved by her family.
She loved her family and was admired by classmates at school who remember her smile and quiet charm.
Though she was taken so young, she will be missed very much.
Tia was born in Lewes, daughter of Sinaka Kellam of Millsboro and David Allen of Lancaster, Calif.
She was a member of Trinity Holiness Church, Frankford.
Tia attended Phillip C. Showell School and Indian River Middle School.
She was a member of the chorus at school.
She was selected Miss Coastal Delaware in 2007.
In addition to her parents, Tia is survived by her stepfather, Victor Perez of Millsboro; two brothers, Christopher Purnell and Victor Perez Jr.; her grandparents; many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members; and many friends whose lives she touched.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Johns Second Baptist Church, Mt. Joy, Millsboro, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Interment will be in St. John's Second Baptist Church Cemetery, Millsboro.
The Rev. Larry Morris of Trinity Holiness Church, Frankford, will officiate.
Contributions are requested to offset catastrophic medical expenses, as well as funeral expenses.
