Brenda W. Tonge, 71
DOVER - Brenda W. Tonge of Dover died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, in Capitol Health Center, Dover. She was 71.
Ms. Tonge was born in Manchester, England, daughter of the late Herbert and Winifred Kerfoot Tonge.
She had lived in the Smyrna area prior to moving to Dover in 2003.
Ms. Tonge had served as a waitress at the Greenery Restaurant at Boscov"s, Dover, for several years prior to retiring due to health issues in 2002.
She was a lover of art and a talented artist.
Ms. Tonge was selected in 2001 as Foster Parent of the Year as a result of her love of children. She also participated with the Foster Grandparenting Program at the East Dover Elementary School.
She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl L. Miller of Magnolia; a sister, Sally McConnell of Townsend; and a granddaughter, Emily Rose Miller of Magnolia.
Services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover, where friends may call one hour earlier. G. Wayne Cuff will officiate.
