Bradley Kent Benson, 46
DOVER - Bradley Kent Bensonpassed away suddenly on Monday, August 29, 2022.
Brad was born on May 5, 1976 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina; he took great pride in being born in the state of the Tarheels, and he stayed a loyal fan throughout his life. He grew up in Dover, De where he attended Caesar Rodney High School. Brad was known to all who knew him as an excellent athlete; he was first team all-state in soccer and in baseball. His family loved to watch him out on the field. Brad also enjoyed the game of golf; he would often spend weekends and holidays hitting tees with close friends and colleagues. Following graduation, he attended Randolph Macon College where he received a BA in Economics.
Brad spent his professional career in banking: he was the bank manager for M&T in Denton, Md and Camden, De. During his time working at M&T in Denton, he joined the Rotary Club where he served as President. Over the past few years, Brad worked in Commercial Lending at Del One Credit Union.
Brad's great loves were his children; the happiest times of his life were spent watching them play the sports he grew up playing. He took pride in seeing his daughter, Kate play soccer, and his son, Gavin playing baseball. Coaching his children over the years gave him so much joy. He could often be found out in the yard with his son, Gavin throwing the ball or playing basketball in the driveway. He was so proud of his daughter and son, and there was nothing he would rather do than spend his days with them. Brad will be remembered by his family for his love of hard-shell crabs, spending time in Duck, NC: riding waves with his children, brothers, father, nephews and nieces. He loved sharing with his children the traditions at the beach of riding go carts, cooking crabs, bodyboarding, and playing nightly games. Brad was dearly loved by his family and friends for his light heartedness, kindness, love of sports, quick wit, loyalty and gentle spirit.
Brad was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Maddox Benson, he is survived by his two children, Kate Elizabeth Benson, and Gavin Kent Benson, and their mother, Jennifer Maciarello Benson; his parents, Brian M. Benson, Jr. and Gail Kent Benson of Dover; his brother, Brian M.
