HARRINGTON - Bonnie K. Cane, of Harrington, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 63.
She was born in Denton, Md., to Katherine Corkell of Denton and the late John Corkell Jr.
Mrs. Cane worked at the Inland Corp. for 25 years.
She was a packaging supervisor and later moved into the office before her retirement.
Mrs. Cane also worked as a bookkeeper for 3D Auto Repair, a business owned and operated by her late husband.
After his passing, she took over the daily operations of the business.
Together with her husband, Mrs. Cane owned several racehorses, which she took over after he passed.
She enjoyed watching them race.
In her spare time, Mrs. Cane enjoyed watching her grandsons race micro-sprint cars, and also liked to watched her grandchildren's baseball, soccer and football games, and even dance and ballet recitals.
She was a fan of NASCAR, and enjoyed hosting NASCAR parties and cookouts at her home.
Mrs. Cane also enjoyed going to the Dover and Midway slots, and taking trips to Atlantic City, N.J.
At one time, she participated in the demolition derbies at the Delaware State Fair for many years.
Mrs. Cane was very family oriented.
She will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and a good friend to many.
Mrs. Cane belonged to the Harrington Ladies of the Moose, and the U.S. Trotting Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Cane; a brother, John Corkell III; and a sister, Julie Boyd.
She is survived by a son, Jason Corkell of Felton; three daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy A. and Mark Maloney of Harrington, Patty L. Baker and her fiance, Thomas Wallace of Felton, and Barbara L. Fisher of Houston; a sister, Doris Usilton of Denton; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington, where friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.
Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
Instead of flowers, donations are suggested to the Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
