FELTON - Bobby Massey, age 80, formerly of Felton, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Mr. Massey was born in Greensboro, Ga., to the late Frank and Mamie (O'Neill) Massey. Mr. Massey retired from the US Air Force after 20 years of service. He was an avid Atlanta Braves and Gospel Music fan. His latter years were spent wheeling in the halls of the Delaware Veterans Home, his home for the last three years, with quick witt, laughter and rivalry in the air. As resident President of the DVH, with honor and pride he escorted his fellow veterans and family members for their final exit. The same honor was bestowed upon him and his family for his final exit. Bobby will be missed by all. He is survived by his three daughters, Deborah and her husband Douglas Cottrell, Lydia and her husband J. Brian Prigg and Fay and her husband Mark Prigge; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Marvin and Nelson Massey; and two sisters, Elizabeth Swann and Ann Murry. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N. W. Front Street, Milford, where friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial with full Military Honors will be at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Veterans Blvd, Milford, DE 19963; or Berry-Short Funeral Home to defray Funeral expenses.
