CLAYTON - Bobbie Cingel of Clayton, passed away on Sept. 8, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Del. She had been in the hospital since Feb. 2010 and had been declining in health since her stroke earlier this year. Mrs. Cingel was born February 20, 1945 in Wilmington, Del., the daughter of the late Lester Daniel Lockwood and Marie Hopkins Clifton Lockwood. She was on disability from Avon Products with whom she had been employed for over 30 years, with the majority of those years as a District Sales Manager. Bobbie was a "people" person and could strike up a conversation with anyone about anything. She was a true salesperson with the "gift of gab" and was looking forward to retirement and spending more time with her family. Bobbie loved to shop and buy the best of the best, especially clothing. No matter what she was doing or where she was going, she was always dressed impeccably. She would frequently spoil her children and grandchildren by buying things for them. Bobbie enjoyed making sure her family was taken care of in all aspects of their lives. She had a knack for shopping, cooking, gardening and collecting/watching movies. Bobbie was a very outgoing person who will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and her Avon family. A hole has been left in all of our hearts, but we know she is at peace with her husband, and they both will be watching us from above. Mrs. Cingel was preceded in death in 1999 by her husband of 30 years, Michael J. Cingel; and a sister, Helen Lapan in 1993. She is survived by two daughters, Robin Kassing of Kenton, Del., and Tina Nichter and her husband Bill of Ruskin, Fla.; two sisters, Nancy Cornwell of Houston, Texas, and Cathy Conaway and her husband Kendall of Ellendale, Del.; four granddaughters, Samantha Somers, Joye, Joanna, and Kathi Nichter; and several nieces and nephews and extended family members. A viewing is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel located at 29 S. Main Street Smyrna, Delaware. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Faries Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna, Delaware. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
