GREENWOOD - Bishop Joyce Lorraine Mizzelle departed this life on Friday, July 23, 2021, at her residence. Born in Bridgeville, she was the daughter of the late Leon T. Cannon, Sr. and Roxie Pruitt Allen.
Bishop Mizzelle was the Pastor and Founder of Grace N Mercy Ministries in Greenwood. She was the First Assistant Presiding Prelate of International Apostolic Communion (IAC) and an Instructor at Enlighten Bible Institute, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Arts degree.
She will be lovingly remembered by: her husband, John V. Mizzelle; two sons, John V. Mizzelle II (Irma) and Edward Cropper (Desiree); six daughters, Glory Mizzelle, Linda Mizzelle, Pamela Johnson (Jackson), Ina Cropper, Deirdre Costello (Chris), and Lashonda Handy; one brother, Leon Cannon, Jr. (Wanda); seven sisters, Margerate Robinson, Shirley Johnson, Betty Cannon, Ella Badger (Lonnie), Barbara Fidderman (Randy), Linda Cannon, and Leretta Pettyjohn; a special uncle, George A. Pruitt (Ginger); 15 grandchildren; a host of godchildren; several aunts, other uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, in-laws, and friends.
Bishop Mizzelle will lie in repose on Monday, August 2, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Jesus Love Temple, 106 S. Walnut Street, Milford. The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. Archbishop Lorenzo Peterson will officiate. Interment will follow at Grace N Mercy Ministries Cemetery, Greenwood.
