Beulah Nell (Lambert) Gorman, 87
DOVER - Beulah Nell (Lambert) Gorman of Dover went to be with the Lord on May 21, 2007. She was 86.
She was born in Circleville, W.Va. to Ernest John and Lillie Jane (Moyers) Laambert.
Beulah had resided at the Pendleton Nursing Home in Franklin, W.Va. since 2006.
On May 16, 1942, she married John Frederick Gorman I who preceded her in death on May 19, 1991.
Beulah was well known for her delicious and beautifully decorated cakes, ranging from a simple sheet cake to a many-tiered wedding cake, her intricate and beautifully crocheted tablecloths and afghans, her wonderful homemade rolls and her boundless drive to get things done.
She cared about people and was always there for those in need and was generous in giving what she could.
She was the quintessential example of "turn the other cheek" and "do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
She believed in God and tried to live her life as a good Christian.
It has always been said that she had a hard life growing up and that she didn"t have much … but oh, how she did turn that around and make herself into a positively wonderful and talented person.
Again, she set the Christian example of how to live a life the way God dealt it.
She was a friend to everyone and everyone was her friend.
To each of her children she has given part of herself and all of us together could not make one of her. She was amazing.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John Frederick Gorman II; her brother, Benny Encil Lambert; and her sister, Mary Louise Keplinger; and one grandson, Sheldon Lee Gorman Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Vernon Elwood Lambert and Sheldon Lee Gorman and his wife, Anna, both of Dover and William Calvert Gorman and his wife, Florence of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; her daughters, Edith Karen Whitaker and her husband, Bill, Barbara Nell Cool, Patricia Ann Tieman and her husband, Jake of Dover and Ruth Ellen Whitaker of Franklin, W.Va.; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-granchildren; siblings, Ruth G. and her husband, Harold Bodkin, Sterle E. and his wife Joy Lambert, Ronny S. and his wife, Corrine Lambert and Nancy L. and her husband, David Fulk; and many nieces and nephews.
A viewing and memorial service were held at the Basagic Funeral Home, U.S. 33 East in Franklin, W.Va.
Her ashes will be buried next to those of her husband, John, in the Moyer"s family plot on the Charles Lambert farm, Smith Creek Road, Franklin, W.Va.
