MAGNOLIA - Betty Reznak became heaven's newest Angel on Jan. 3, 2014. Betty Reznak was born on Aug. 5, 1924 in Portage, Pa., She was the youngest daughter of John and Mary Elizeus, proud Hungarian immigrants who preceded her in death. Betty's greatest treasures in life were her children, her family and her grandchildren. Her family was the greatest joy of her life, she would say "her family was her greatest accomplishment!" She loved each and every one unconditionally. She and Frank were married 43 years before he passed in 1994. He always said he knew immediately when they met that he would marry Betty. She was a beautiful, nurturing, compassionate, and creative woman; a loving, caring and understanding mother full of wisdom, wit and humor. She was a considerate and kind-hearted friend who made people feel cared for. She was so fortunate to have such love in her life! The joy of travel expanded her life to many places with her Air Force husband. She loved orchestra and instrumental music, enjoyed reading historical non fiction and was very interested in politics. She was a creative, talented and worldly chef, her many international recipes included traditional Hungarian favorites. She was an experienced gardener, she especially loved all flowers. She was a very talented artist, painting realistic scenes from nature and birds, which she so enjoyed. She leaves this earth with a legacy of love, inspiration, and a heart of great consideration for others. It is with immense sorrow that we say "Goodbye", her joyous spirit will be greatly missed by all who loved her, but she will be forever with us as our special guardian angel. She was the beloved wife of Francis Louis Reznak (Frank), a 30 year Air Force veteran of Czechoslovakian descent who also preceded her in death. Betty Reznak was the beloved and adored mother to Christine, Richard, Camille (Dena) and Suzan. She was the sister of Madeline, Margaret, Mary and Helen, who all preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother, John Elisens and his wife Helen, who was like a sister to her, and several nieces and nephews; her niece, Mimi was also like a sister. Betty was the beloved grandmother to Michelle and Christopher Reznak, David and Monica Staley, and Ryan Kirk; and the great-grandmother to Marco. The family expresses sincere appreciation to all caregivers of Home Instead, Hospice and Robin Carey for their generosity and compassionate care. A service will be held in the Spring at a date to be determined at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery where Betty's ashes will be interred beside her husband, as she joins him in a new heavenly journey. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that if you wish to make a donation, please consider Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Hwy., Dover, Delaware 19901; Home Instead, PO Box 39, Wyoming, DE 19934 or Robin Carey, 132 Messina Hill Rd, Dover, DE 19904 in honor of Betty Reznak.
