HARTLY - On Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 Betty Lou Rosengren Stone passed away peacefully where she resided at Silver Lake Nursing & Rehab Center. Born at home on July 6, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Mary Chambers.
She married Robert (Bob) Rosengren in Feb. 1946 and had two children. Betty worked for the State of Delaware for approximately 27 years at the DMV, retiring in 1991. She was remarried June 29, 2002 to John Stone.
She is survived by her son, Richard Rosengren and his wife Debbie, of Hartley; her daughter, Sandy Marshall and her husband Wayne, of Bridgeville; four grandchildren, Wayne Marshall (Nicole), Michael Rosengren (Ruth), Billie Jo Justice (Tim), and Kelly Hales (Reece). She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She and her first husband did a lot of crabbing at the Wye Mills, Md. She cooked the best crabs. Betty enjoyed traveling after retirement and visiting relatives in other states. One of her favorite places to visit was Branson, Mo. She loved country music and she enjoyed watching and participating in country line dancing. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She spent a lot of time at the Moose Lodge, as well as the VFW, in Camden. Betty was outgoing, loved a good joke, and playing bingo as well as the lottery.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bob; her second husband, John; great granddaughter, Raelyn Huffman; three brothers and one sister.
Services will be Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018 at 12 p.m. at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus Street Dover. Family and friends may call at 11 a.m. before time of the service. Burial will be Sharon Hill Memorial Park Dover. Letters of condolences may be sent to
