LEIPSIC, DE - Betty Lou Bishop Blair passed away Friday, August 25, 2023 at Capitol Nursing Home, Dover.
Mrs. Blair was born April 13, 1943 in Dover, Delaware to the late Albert H. Bishop and Margaret Jeanette Cushion Bishop.
She grew up in Leipsic and married right out of high school and started a family. Mrs. Blair went to work as a line worker for a chicken plant processing center, after her children got older. She enjoyed family get togethers, traveling, visiting family in PA., loved spending time with her grandchildren, playing bingo and line dancing. Mrs. Blair was a life member of the Leipsic Volunteer Fire Company, Ladies Auxiliary and Church of God, but attended Maranatha Mennonite Church. She also volunteered at the DAV in Camden.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Blair; and son-in-law, Jerry Manley, Sr.; and grandson, Justin Blair.
She is survived by her children, Catherine Manley of Clayton, Samuel E. Blair and his wife Cindy of Sandtown, Charles W. Blair and his wife Kelly of Elkton, MD, Margaret J. Smith and her husband Michael, Sr. of Bridgeville; siblings, Patrick E. Bishop, Jessie Davila and husband Richard, Gladys M. Bishop and her companion Michelle Garing all of Dover; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1PM, Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, DE 19904, to help defray funeral expenses.
