FELTON - Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Aunt, Betty L. Cobb passed away on March 9, 2022, at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital.
Betty was born on March 29, 1937, to Herbert and Edith Hussey in Chester, Pa. Betty graduated from Chester High School. After graduation she worked in various jobs, her favorite being the activities coordinator at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill in Smyrna, Del.
Betty had a love for animals, especially cats. She also enjoyed flower arranging and line dancing. She was an early member of the Modern Maturity Center Stepping Seniors dance group, with whom she particularly enjoyed riding in local parades on her decorated golf cart.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, Herbert; and mother, Edith; her sister, Nancy Shields (Joseph); and her husband, Mack Cobb.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Gutgsell (Allison), Edie Gutgsell, and Robert Gutgsell, and their father Jerry Gutgsell; grandchildren, Katrina Gutgsell and Gerald Gutgsell; nieces, Judy Shields and Janice Taylor (Steve); and nephew, Joseph A. Shields (Debbie).
Services will be private, and in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite animal shelter/rescue or to St. Jude's Hospital for Children.
