Betty Jane Kaer, 81 SMYRNA - Betty Jane Kaer, of Smyrna, died on Sunday May 2, 2010, in Kent General Hospital in Dover. She was 81. Mrs. Kaer was born May 3, 1928, in Green Island, Iowa, to Harry F. and Augusta M. Frank. She attended public schools in Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa and taught school for three years. She was a control tower operator in the U.S. Navy for two years. She retired in 1990 as a Finance Officer for a New York State agency. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Harriett Sass of Los Alamos, N.M., and Joann Jocquinot of Phoenix, Ariz. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Richard L. Kaer; her daughter, Marjorie Feinberg and her husband, Paul and their son, Jesse; and a sister, Mary Paetow of Aurora, Colo. Services will be private.
