DOVER - Betty J. Atkinson passed away Wednesday Dec. 19, 2012 at Capitol Healthcare Center, Dover. Mrs. Atkinson was born Dec. 15, 1928 in Ridley Park, Pa. After moving to Dover in 2000 she lived at Luther Towers and then State Street Assisted Living were she was surrounded with loving and caring residents and staff. She worked in secretarial positions for Media Courthouse in Media, Pa. for 10 years and then for Delaware Technical Community College in Stanton. She was an avid Orioles fan and enjoyed sewing, ceramics and many other crafts. Mrs. Atkinson was preceded in death by her mother Eva Horn and her husband Lewis L. Atkinson, Jr. in 1990. She is survived by her son, Lewis L. Atkinson, III and his wife Eva of Dover; sister in law, Grace Horn of Conn.; grandsons, Ian Lewis and Luke Annett Services will be private.
