Betty Ann Blakeslee

MILTON - Betty Ann Blakeslee (Madden) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born in Pitman, N.J. and moved to Milton with her husband and children in 1968.
Betty was a homemaker; a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a past member of the Pitman United Methodist Church, Pitman, N.J. and attended Crossroad Community Church, Georgetown. She served her community in many capacities, including: Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Milton Fire Department; Past Pocahontas/Charter Member of Running River Council, Degree of Pocahontas, Lewes; Delaware Hospice Bereavement; Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post 28; and Moose Lodge Ladies of Lewes and Rehoboth.
She was preceded by her husband, Gerald A. 'Jerry' Blakeslee, Sr. in 2004; her mother, May; and brothers, Albert and William.
She is survived by her children, Donna Clark (Kenny) of Lincoln; Carol Mast (Douglas) of Milton; Tammy Burton (John) of Lewes, Gerald 'Jerry' A. Blakeslee, Jr. of Milton, and Barbara Evans (Carey) of Lewes; 14 grandchildren, Kim, Kenny C. Jr., Kenny J. Jr., Stacey, Keith, Samantha, Alexandria, Gerald 'Jerry' III, John, Hannah, Douglas, Amanda, Abeygail and Joshua; nine great-grandchildren with her 10th due in November; sisters-in law, brothers-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews, and her special friend, Lloyd Wurst.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017 at 2 pm, with a time of visitation from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be sent in Betty's name to Delaware Hospice Milford, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or Milton Fire Department, 116 Front St., Milton, DE 19968.
