FRANKFORD - Bettie E. Kelley departed this life on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013 at home with her family at her bedside. She was born in Painter, Va. on Dec. 18, 1921, the daughter of the late Abraham and Mary Smith. She was a member of Union Wesley United Methodist Church and the Lily of the Valley Chapter #14 Order of Eastern Star. She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Minnie Chandler and Corine Smith; two son-in-laws; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, James Kelley preceded her in death. Her visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, Del. Her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 at Union Wesley United Methodist Church, 32137 Powell Farm Rd., Frankford, DE, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
