Bessie E. Moore

DOVER - Bessie E. Moore of Dover passed away Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014 at Courtland Manor Nursing Home. She was 84. Mrs. Moore was born Jan. 31, 1930 in Fairmount, Delaware to the late Fred Mitchell and Olivia Joseph Mitchell. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, sewing, boating, crabbing, clamming, and fishing. Mrs. Moore was a wonderful seamstress and a professional upholsterer, Moore's Upholstery, she was also a member of the Downs Chapel United Methodist Church, Clayton and of the Ladies Aide. Mrs. Moore was the last of 7 siblings. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Thomas I. Moore, Jr. of Dover; daughters, Karen Hudson and her husband Gary of Frederica, Del., Renee Moore of Newark, Del.; five grandchildren, Lydia Collins and her husband Jeramiah, Rebecca Bobola and her husband Ted, Michael Lynch, Diana Reed and her husband Brian and Tim Hudson; great grandchildren, Caden and Dillana Reed and a great grandchild baby Collins due in February. Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 10-12. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Alzheimer's Association Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
