DOVER -- Bertha Sedmont of Dover died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at her granddaughter's home. She was 93. Mrs. Sedmont was born July 3, 1915, in Newark, N.J., to the late William Wirth and Antonia Kudlick Wirth. She was a homemaker with a lifelong compassion to help people. She was very self sacrificing and an inspiration to all who knew her. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George F. Sedmont in 1996; and her sister, Rose Magdich. She is survived by her two sons, Arthur "Artie" Sedmont and his wife Nancy of Brenford and Roger Sedmont of Turnersville, N.J.; four grandchildren, Dorayne Poklikuha, Arthur Sedmont Jr., Bunny Grimes, and Jacqui Toles, with whom she lived; and 10 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
