DOVER - Bennie James Blount passed away July 5, 2012, in his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Swan's Corner, N.C. to Bennie and Meranda Blount on April 17, 1930. He was the oldest of 11 Children and proudly served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his children, Sarah and Bennie Blount; two brothers; six sisters; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A viewing will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Pippin Funeral Home on Wed. July 11. A brief service will take place in the final hour. The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the funeral home to help defer costs. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
