Beatrice Butler, 85

ELLENDALE - Beatrice Butler, of Ellendale, died on Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, in the presence of her family in Milford. She was 85.

She was born on June 14, 1922, in South Mills, N.C., where she obtained her education at Rosenwald School, South Mills.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia Mullen.

She is survived by her two sons, James Brinkley of Lincoln, and Ronnie Butler of Felton; two daughters, Ella Mae McDonald and husband Bishop Eddie Jean McDonald of Dover and Connie Butler of Lincoln; three sisters, Christina Hanes and husband James of Lincoln, Joanna Mullen and husband Herbert of Lincoln and Odessa Ferbie of Elizabeth City, N.C.; one sister-in-law, Beatrice Creecy of Ellendale; grandchildren, Cleophas and Sandra Mullen of Milford, Jerome and Onita Mullen of Milford, Gloria Mullen and Charlton Barner of Ellendale, Wanda and Ernest Lofland of Bridgeville, Sam Mullen of Dover, Judy Mullen of Ellendale, Marcus and Tamara Mullen of Ellendale, Joseph and Andrea Mullen of Millsboro, Dr. Julius and Natasha Mullen of Seaford, Shawn Mullen of Ellendale, Michael Jermaine Hooks-Butler of Harrington, Margaret Tessa Pitts of Dover, LaKeisha Mann of Millsboro, Carrie Dennie-Myers of Middletown, Pastor Calvin and wife Montane' McDonald of Frederica and Datrina Butler of Ellendale; 41 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be noon Monday in the Pentecostal Church of God in Lincoln, where friends may view two hours prior.

Burial will be in Old Hickory Cemetery.

Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home.
