Barbara Jean Wintjen, 90
MILFORD, DE - Barbara Jean Wintjen passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023, at Accent Care Hospice.
She was born August 18, 1932, in Milford, Delaware, to the late George Peterman and Lucielle West Peterman.
Ms. Wintjen worked in logistics for the LD Caulk Company, retiring in 1995 after 25 years of service. She enjoyed singing in her church choir, reading, puzzles, attending live theater performances, and taking short trips to the beach and other locations to visit family & friends. She especially loved visiting her children and their families during the holidays and special occasions and showing pictures of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Peterman, Paul Peterman, Robert Peterman, Doug Peterman, and Joe Peterman; and her sisters, Sarah Guilford and Frances Lavoie.
Ms. Wintjen is survived by her children, Becky Dressler and husband, Theo of Dover, DE and Joe Charles and wife, Debra of Clinton Township, NJ; her brothers, David Peterman of Camden-Wyoming, DE, Donald Peterman of Milford, DE, and Lloyd Peterman of Cape Coral, Florida; her sister, Joyce McDowell of Lakeland, FL; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, 6486 Bay Road, Frederica, Delaware. A public Celebration of Life service is being planned for a future date.
