MILFORD - Barbara Jean Krout passed away on Friday, Aug. 25, 2017 at the Delaware Hospice Center after a long battle with leukemia. She was born in Milford on Mar. 3, 1944 to the late John B. and Helen Adams Ennis.
Barbara was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, involved with the United Methodist Women Rachel Circle. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved game shows, reading, traveling, going on cruises and shopping with her sister. Barbara worked for the State of Delaware Division of Health and Social Services as a Medical Accountant.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Krout, Sr. in 2016; and a granddaughter, Reese Krout. She is survived by her son, Donald C. Krout, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Camden; sister, Betty Jane Dittoe and her husband John; and brother, Jack Ennis and his wife Candy, all of Milford; grandchildren, Addison and Brett; nieces and nephews, Jr and Jenna Ennis, Dennis and Robyn Dittoe, and Denise and Dennis Dean; several great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-nephew.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford on Friday, Sept. 1, 2017 at 1 p.m. A time of visitation will take place from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Interment will be at Milford Community Cemetery.
