MILFORD - Barbara Grace Traute, 79, of Milford, passed peacefully on Jan. 27, 2012, after a lengthy stay in Milford Center. She was born in Worcester, Mass., Mar. 6, 1932, the middle daughter of the late George and Grace Fisher. From there the family moved to New Jersey, where her surviving sister Leslie Schaffer still resides. In 1952, she married Henry Traute and they raised 4 children there. Barbara and Henry then moved to Delaware in 1996 and built a house in Milford. Barbara was an accomplished quilter and loved flower gardening. She loved reading and as her children grew she first worked in the local High School cafeteria and then in the Fairfield Public Library where she stayed for 25 years. As a young girl, Barbara progressed through the ranks of the Girl Scouts and later became a leader for her daughters Troops. Barbara was predeceased by her sister, Dory Thompson. She will be sorely missed by her sons, Frederick and Raymond and their wives Deborah and Joan; daughters, Margaret and husband Richard Woznicki, and Barbara Worden; and ten grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Burial is private. A celebration of life will be announced later in the year. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's memory may be sent to Alzheimers Association of Delaware, Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106. Letters of condolence can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
