Barbara G. Vathis
Barbara Vathis passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021 in Dover, Delaware. She was born on June 6, 1926 in Ocean City, New Jersey. Her love of family and the wonderful times they shared meant the world to her. She earned her Bachelor's Degree at Douglass College for Women and married soon after graduation. She was an avid reader and enjoyed Mysteries and Histories. Her love of Solitaire, needlework, crocheting, knitting and especially gardening brought her much joy.
Barbara was the daughter of H. Wolford and Dorothy Gardiner. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Vathis. She is survived by her daughter, Victoria Erb and son-in-law, James Erb of Magnolia, Delaware; her son, Randall Vathis of Palmyra, Pennsylvania; her daughter, Stephanie Flack and son-in-law Ed Flack of Pasadena, Maryland; her grandchildren, Nicole Turnbaugh (Rob), Jason Vathis, Courtney Vathis, Erin Vathis, Michael Flack, Christopher Flack; and her great grandson, Joseph Turnbaugh.
There will be no formal viewing or service, only a gathering of immediate family, as she will be interred with her husband at Indiantown Gap Military Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
