Barbara A. Scouten DOVER - Barbara A. Scouten, died Tuesday, December 1, 2009, in Christiana Hospital, with her family at her side. Barbara was born in Latrobe, Pa. in 1937. Barbara was a retired legal secretary who worked for the law firm of Brown, Shiels and O'Brien in Dover, for over 30 years. In her retirement, Barbara spent time doing volunteer work at Modern Maturity Center and Bayhealth Medical Center in Dover. She was a loving mother and grandmother, as well as friend. She loved to watch tennis, cross stitch, read and shop. Her hobbies also included a long time love of video and computer games. She was known to friends and family to be a great listener and giver of advice. She always seemed to know what to say. Words cannot describe how much she will be missed by all. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Harry Lee Moore; husband, Richard Scouten; son, Bruce Case; daughter, Cheryl Case; and grandson, Nicholas Micale. She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Moore of Winter Haven, Fla.; daughter, Kathy L. Micale and her son-in-law, Thomas A. Micale of Dover; grandsons, Dr. Michael Greenage of Roanoke, Va., and Kevin Case of Dover; her best friend, Joyce Waring of Frederica; and her cats, Ms. Blue and Mr. Tinkles. Services are private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 8501 LaSalle Road, Suite 106, Towson, MD 21286; or the American Heart Association, Kent County Division, 1019 Mattlind Way, Milford, DE 19963.
