GRASONVILLE, Md. - Arlene Stowers of Grasonville passed away and met her heavenly Father on Thursday, April 26, 2007, in her home. She was 67.
Mrs. Stowers was born July 29, 1939, in Edenton, N.C., daughter of the late Anna Rankins and Vernon Morris.
Known to all as "WeeWee," she was educated in the Edenton public school system.
Mrs. Stowers was employed by Crouch Seafood and Friels, and retired from Sisk Mailing in Stevensville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Haron Stowers.
She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Maynard Thomas; an adopted son, Dempsey Thomas; a twin sister, Christine "PeeWee" Askins; a granddaughter, Shavontaye Thomas of Chestertown; three great-grandchildren, Mitasia, NeShyne and Naseem; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Stowers; three brothers-in-law, Calvin Stowers, Melvin Stowers and Adolphus Stowers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, to include Margaret Reed, Mattie Johnson and Donald Watkins.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Union Wesley United Methodist Church, Chester, Pa., where friends may call two hours earlier. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
