MILAN (AP) — Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo rewrites Winter Olympics history with a perfect sweep in men’s cross-country skiing. On Saturday, the Norwegian won the 50-kilometer mass start for his sixth gold at the Milan Cortina Games. He breaks Eric Heiden’s long-standing record of five golds at one Winter Olympics. American speedskating star Jordan Stolz finished fourth in the men’s mass start, behind 40-year-old champion Jorrit Bergsma of the Netherlands. Bergsma is the oldest man to win a speedskating gold. The United States has set its Winter Games record with an 11th gold. That was secured by the trio of Kaila Kuhn, Connor Curran and Chris Lillis in mixed aerials.

NFL wide receiver Rondale Moore found dead in Indiana

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (AP) — Rondale Moore, the NFL receiver who had season-ending training camp knee injuries in each of the last two years after a standout college career at Purdue and a promising start with the Arizona Cardinals, was found dead Saturday, authorities said. He was 25. Police said Moore died of a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound. Moore was found dead in the garage of a property in his hometown of New Albany, police chief Todd Bailey said. The death remains under investigation. Floyd County Coroner Matthew Tomlin also confirmed Moore’s death. He said an autopsy would be conducted Sunday. Moore signed with the Minnesota Vikings in 2025, but he blew out his left knee while returning a punt in their first exhibition game.

Baseball Hall of Famer Bill Mazeroski, known for walk-off home run in 1960 World Series, dies at 89

Bill Mazeroski, the Hall of Fame second baseman who won eight Gold Glove awards for his steady work in the field and the hearts of countless Pittsburgh Pirates fans for his historic walk-off home run in Game 7 of the 1960 World Series, has died at the age of 89. The Pirates announced his death on Saturday. Pirates owner Bob Nutting said Mazeroski, who died Friday, “was one of a kind, a true Pirates legend.” The Pirates retired Mazeroski's No. 9 in 1987. The club had a statue of him erected on Bill Mazeroski Way in 2010.

Garcia dropped Barrios in the opening seconds and controled the fight with sharp combinations. Judges scored it in a wide sweep, and Barrios never found a steady answer. Garcia stayed patient after the early knockdown and turned more conservative late with a big lead. The win capped a turbulent stretch for Garcia, including a suspension, fines and other controversies. In the co-main event, Gary Antuanne Russell kept his title over Andy Hiraoka.

Bridgeman delivers brilliant performance at Riviera to build a 6-shot lead over McIlroy

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jacob Bridgeman is turning the Genesis Invitational at Riviera into a runaway. He started the third round in a share of the lead. He shot a 64 for the low round of the day and leads Rory McIlroy by six. Bridgeman had three birdies in four holes at the start. And then he really turned it on when he reached the back nine. He went birdie-eagle-birdie to stretch the lead to six shots. McIlroy closed with seven pars for a 69. He's glad to be in the last group so he can at least try to put pressure on Bridgeman.

Yankees slugger Aaron Judge hits 2 HRs in spring debut

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge hit two homers in his spring debut as he prepares for the World Baseball Classic next month. The three-time Most Valuable Player hit a pair of two-run shots, one in the third inning and another in the fourth. He finished the day 2-for-3 with four RBIs. The 33-year-old has won the MVP in three of the past four seasons, including last year when he hit .331 with 53 homers and 114 RBIs. Judge will be part of what looks like a loaded Team USA lineup in the WBC. The position player group also includes Bryce Harper, Gunnar Henderson, Bobby Witt Jr., Cal Raleigh and Kyle Schwarber.

WNBA offers new CBA proposal that includes paying housing for this season, AP source says

NEW YORK (AP) — The WNBA sent a counterproposal to its players’ union for a new collective bargaining agreement that included continuing to pay for all player housing this season, but not really changing its previous offer of revenue sharing. A person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press about Friday's development. The person spoke on condition of anonymity on Saturday because of the sensitive nature of negotiations. In the league’s new proposal, the teams would pay for all housing this season. Then teams would pay for housing for players on minimum salary contracts as well as rookies in their first season.

Michigan, Duke, Arizona, Iowa State headline preliminary seeds from NCAA selection committee

Michigan is the No. 1 overall seed in the preliminary rankings by the committee that will select the 68-team men's field for the NCAA Tournament. The Wolverines were joined by Duke, Arizona and Iowa State as the 1-seeds in Saturday's reveal show on CBS. The Cyclones got the last No. 1 seed ahead of UConn and Houston. Saturday’s reveal is a snapshot of where things stand with less than a month left until Selection Sunday. Generally the teams listed above the cutline for a top-four regional seed stay there. Selection Sunday is March 15. The Final Four is in Indianapolis.
