Anne Fisher (Ross) Creech, 96

BARNWELL, S.C. - Anne Fisher (Ross) Creech of Barnwell died Friday, March 16, 2007, in Barnwell. She was 96.

She was the great-granddaughter of the late Gov. William Henry Harrison Ross, and was the last family member to have lived at the Ross Plantation in Seaford, Del.

Mrs. Creech was educated at the Jefferson Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia, and worked as a registered nurse for many years.

As a member of the Army Nurses Corps, she saw active duty in Korea and Germany, retiring with the rank of captain.

Mrs. Creech was married to Billy L. Creech for 49 years, until his death on March 11, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Brooks L. and Catherine L. Ross; and a brother, James J. Ross.

She is survived by her nieces, Claire (Ross) Oehm of San Jose, Calif., and Catharine (Ross) Bell of Lewes, Del.

Services were held in Mole Funeral Home, Barnwell.

Memorial donations may be made to the Ross Mansion, 1101 N. Pine St. Ext., Seaford, DE 19973.
