CAMBRIDGE, Md. - Anne F. Ridley, of Cambridge, passed away at Dorchester General Hospital on Sunday, March 9, 2008. She was 60.

She was born in Cambridge on May 22, 1947, and was the daughter of the late William Henry and Marie Hurst Faulkner.

Mrs. Ridley graduated from Cambridge High School in 1965, and also attended Western Maryland College, where she earned two bachelor's degrees, one in social studies and the other in music from Salisbury University.

She later also received a certification as a media specialist from the University of Delaware.

During high school and college she worked summers at Camp Pecometh.

On May 25, 1969, she was married to the Rev. Douglas M. Ridley.

Mrs. Ridley worked as a teacher and media specialist at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic School in Wilmington, and for eight years worked at Warwick Elementary School in Secretary as a media specialist as well as music teacher.

While teaching at Warwick Elementary School, she was nominated for and was named as Dorchester County Teacher of the year in 2005.

Mrs. Ridley enjoyed playing the piano and sang in the choirs of various churches which her husband had served as Pastor.

She had also been a member of the Chorus of Dorchester for a number of years and was also an avid reader. She was taken to Dorchester General Hospital early Sunday morning where she passed away on Sunday afternoon.

She is survived by her husband, of Cambridge; one son, Andrew Blake Ridley of Frederica, Del.; one daughter, Elizabeth A. Rollet and her husband Jean-Marc of West Chester, Pa.; and two grandchildren, Cacilia Rollet and Luc Rollet.

A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Grace United Methodist Church, Cambridge, with the Rev. Thomas McKelvey and the Rev. William Sterling officiating.

Interment will take place at the East New Market Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., in Cambridge.
