Anna Marie Pettyjohn Brittingham, 87
MILTON - Anna Marie Pettyjohn Brittingham of Milton died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, in Lewes Convalescent Center. She was 87.
Mrs. Brittingham was born in Harbeson, daughter of the late Charles Sr. and Anna Davidson Pettyjohn.
She was a graduate of Milton High School.
Mrs. Brittingham was a faithful and loving wife who devoted countless hours of hard work assisting her husband on their farm in Milton. She enjoyed playing violin and loved music.
Many years ago she was involved with the Hollymount Home Demonstration Club.
She always wanted to look her best and be nicely dressed.
Mrs. Brittingham was a member of Whites Chapel United Methodist Church and the Women's Society of Christian Service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David S. Brittingham; a grandson, David W. LeGates; two sons-in-law, Joe N. Callaway and John W. LeGates; and her siblings.
She is survived by two daughters, Norma Callaway and Carol LeGates, both of Milton; a granddaughter, Dawn Adams and her husband, Kevin of Chesapeake, Va.; five great-grandchildren, Danielle M. LeGates, Derek C. LeGates, Marissa N. LeGates, Quinn Adams and Casey Adams; and a brother-in-law, Lorain Wilkins of Milford.
A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call two hours earlier.
