Anna Jane Jefferson, 84

LEWES - Anna Jane Jefferson, of Lewes, died Thursday, April 30, 2009, in Beebe Hospital after a short illness. She was 84. Anna Jane was born June 18, 1924, in Wilmington to the late Frank T. and Elizabeth J. Culver Dickerson. Jane moved from Wilmington with her family in 1938, graduated from Lewes High School in 1942, attended Beebe School of Nursing graduating in the class of 1945. Jane then worked at Beebe Hospital as an OB/GYN nurse from 1952 until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of OES, St. Peter's Church, Lewes Historical Society, Children's Beach House, and St. Peter's Outreach Committee. Jane was predeceased by her son, Leland Lee F. Jefferson. She is survived by her son, Donald F. and Joann Jefferson of Lewes; one grandson, Donald E. and Kym Jefferson of Milton; and four great-grandchildren, Mikala, Luke, Triston, and Skylar. Memorial services will be 1 p.m., May 6, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 2nd Street, Lewes. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Beebe Hospital School of Nursing or St. Peter's Outreach Committee. Arrangements by Miller Funeral Services.
