Anna Elizabeth Ford Bryden

Anna Elizabeth Ford Bryden, 94

ROCK HALL, Md. - Anna Elizabeth Ford Bryden of Rock Hall died on March 19, 2007, at Chester River Manor in Chestertown, Md. She was 94.

She was born in Rock Hall, the daughter of the late Benjamin Frank and Ada S. Pearce Ford and mother of the late S. Glyn Edwards and James Leo "Pete" Edwards.

Mrs. Bryden graduated from Rock Hall High School and University of Maryland with a bachelor of science degree in education.

She married Bud Edwards and later remarried to Albert Bryden who preceded her in death in 1965.

Mrs. Bryden taught at Rock Hall High School and later Chestertown Middle School where she retired in 1973. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 86, Rock Hall Homemakers, Kent County Senior Citizens, Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Retired Teachers Association, Kent County, past board member of Upper Shore Aging and volunteered with the Kent County Library and Rock Hall Museum.

Mrs. Bryden enjoyed needlepoint, crafting, traveling, and tutoring.

She is survived by a son, Melvin "Sonny" Edwards of Easton, Md.; a step-daughter, Delores Unruh of Aberdeen, Md.; two sisters, Miriam Hoffecker of Chestertown and Nina Noonan of Broomall, Pa.; five grandchildren, Joann Willis, Valerie Williams, Candy Edwards-Roach, Pete Edwards, and Patty Williams; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Relatives and friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.

Arrangements by Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, Rock Hall.
