Anna Catherine Cannon, 90
CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Anna Catherine Cannon, of Chestertown, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, in Chester River Hospital, Chestertown. She was 90.
Mrs. Cannon was born near Centreville on Aug. 13, 1917, and was raised in Ingleside, one of eight children to the late Harry V. and Velma Sewell Welch.
From 1941 to the late 1960s, she and her husband owned and operated a farm west of Sudlersville, where they raised their family.
They moved to Arizona in 1968, returning to the Queen Anne's and Kent counties area in the late 1970s.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Willard Cannon, in 1980; and her son-in-law, Daniel "Nerdy" Hickman.
Mrs. Cannon is survived by four children, Ann Hickman of Still Pond, Frances Cirillo of Merritt Island, Fla., Mary Shaw of Bradenton, Fla., and Arthur Cannon and his wife Phyllis of Sudlersville; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, where friends may call one hour prior.
Burial in Sudlersville Cemetery, Sudlersville.
