DOVER - Ann D. DeMarie, age 79, of Dover, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2011, at her residence. Born in Annawalt, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Sandor and Anna Horbath-Domyan. Mrs. DeMarie had served as an Elementary School Teacher at Holy Cross School and upon her retirement from teaching joined her husband in their family business, the Dover Liquor Mart, which was located in the Carroll's Corner Shopping Center. She had been a dedicated wife, mother, and loving grandmother who enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends, especially her beloved granddaughter. In her quieter moments she enjoyed tending to flowers, and was very gifted with making floral arrangements. A kind and gentle person, Mrs. DeMarie loved her pets, and enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels that would visit her property. She will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched. Besides her parents, she was preceded by her husband of 45 yrs., Carmen J. DeMarie, who died in 1996; two brothers, Jessie Domyan and Frank Domyan; and two sisters, Mary Hewes and Goldie Saxfield. Mrs. DeMarie leaves behind her beloved children and their spouses, Kathy DeMarie Churchey and husband Dale of Dover, and John DeMarie and his wife Debbie, and their daughter, Emily Ann DeMarie of Dover; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.
