Anita was born in Georgetown, on July 23, 1912, daughter of the late W. Boyce and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Short, formerly of Lincoln. In 1961, Anita was one of the original members who started and organized Christian Tabernacle, in Lincoln. She taught Sunday school for several years and also served as pianist, organist and treasurer. Prior to 1961, she was a member of Lincoln U.M. Church. There, she taught Sunday school for 22 years, served as president of the WSCS and was assistant superintendent of the Primary Department. In 1952, she was the first chairman for the Cancer Society in Sussex County, in Lincoln, and served there for several years. During WWII, Anita and her husband were "spotters" for the Air Raid Post near Lincoln. After moving to Milford, in 1981, she held weekly Bible studies and prayer meetings in her home. One, of which, was called the Mary-Martha Fellowship. Anita had also volunteered at the Milford Hospital gift shop. In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. Morgan, Sr., in 1978; two sisters, Virginia Baker and Blanche Brittingham; son-in-law, Curt Ennis; granddaughter-in-law, Lisa Morgan; and great-granddaughter, Hannah Davies.
