
Angela Lucas, 65
FREDERICA - Angela Lucas passed away, Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Kent General Hospital.
Angela was born June 8, 1957, in Liverpool, England to Bridget Grimes and the late William B. Graves, Sr.
She was educated in England achieving a Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award, a very prestigious award from Prince Phillip. Her education level achieved the equivalent of a degree in history, dress making and cooking. Before leaving England, Angela's last job was working for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, II at Camborne School of Ministries cleaning precious gems. She immigrated to the United States in 1989 to join her mother who had come in 1974 as her father was USAF from the 1950's.
Angela worked as a collector and fraud investigator for Discover Card for 7 years, then became a political fundraiser for the republican party for speaker of the house Terry Spence who at that time was running for Governor. She then joined the Lion's International and became a board member for John Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. During those several years, she organized golf outings, auctions at Dover Downs, raising 10's of thousands for the Lions Club of Delaware. Eventually raising 1 -3 million dollars for FDNY and NYPD after 9-11-2001, spending several trips to NY with her husband Frank. They received a letter from President Bush for outstanding service. Angela also received Governors Ruth Ann Minners volunteer of the year award in 2003. She was also a small seasonal business owner from 2002- 2022.
Her passion was Jesus, Evangelism, travel, gardening, Calvary Church, and her dogs Benji and Lucas. She will be sadly missed by the several young women who she led to the Lord.
In addition to her father; she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Frank Lucas.
She leaves behind her children, Stephen and Angela, Jr.; granddaughters, Georgina, Lea and Zoe; two amazing brothers, Angelo and William, Jr.; sisters, Sheryl, Diane and Carolyn; brother-in-law, Samuel; and sister-in-law, Terri Graves.
Funeral services will be held 12 Noon, Monday, October 10, 2022, at the Calvary Assembly of God Church, 1141 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover, DE 19901. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
