HARRINGTON - Amanda Rash Quillen, born April 27, 1920, passed away on May 4, 2011. She was a lifelong resident of Harrington. She and her late husband Hayward loved to travel, visiting all fifty United States as well as several European Countries. After Graduating West Chester University, she found joy in teaching elementary students in Harrington and following their success as adults. Mrs. Quillen was a life long Methodist, a Democrat, and devotee of current events. She explored the world despite having very limited vision. She was also a member of the West Chester University Alumni Association. She and her husband were always very supportive and generous to their nieces and nephews, as well as other children in the community. She is survived by one sister, Elva Rae McIntyre of Jacksonville, Fla.; and three generations of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Frank Quillen, Francis Quillen, and Grace Wanda Quillen of Harrington. At her request, there is no viewing or formal service. Internment will be in Gracelawn Cemetery in Wilmington. In lieu of flowers she suggested donations to the Delaware Association for the Blind; 800 N. West Street #1, Wilmington, DE 19801. Arrangements by Price Funeral Home, Harrington.
