Alvin W. Peters, 71

DOVER - Alvin W. Peters of Dover died Monday, Nov. 13, 2006, in his home. He was 71.

Mr. Peters was born in Manchester, Ga., son of the late Jack Peters and Frankie Peters McFarlin.

He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service.

Mr. Peters was an avid fisherman and enjoyed working outdoors in his yard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara A. Peters; a son, Calvin Peters; a daughter, Elaine (Peters) Charles; and a brother, Luther McFarlin.

He is survived by two daughters, Dianne (Peters) Billips and Carolyn (Peters) Small; two grandchildren, Darien Charles and Katana Charles; three sisters; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 this evening in Whatcoat United Methodist Church, 16 N. Main St., Camden.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the church, where friends may call two hours earlier.

Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
